the royal caribbean: ovation of the seas
I went on my first cruise last April 2018. It was a family trip to celebrate both my grandparents’ birthdays and wedding anniversary, and my grandfather decided to spend it aboard the Royal Caribbean.
The Royal Caribbean ship is huge, and can hold up to almost 5,000 people. It has all sorts of amenities (as other blogs and videos will show), houses different restaurants and holds activities and entertainment on board. The ship was great, and so was the service. And since I found several blogs and videos online to be helpful in giving me a better idea of what to expect, I’ve listed down a few tidbits below.
bits of bali: the mulia
Bali has always been at the top of my list of places to visit. Aside from beach chilling and nonstop eating and drinking, a trip to Bali to me would mean a lot of exploring of the little shops and really taking in all the beautiful interiors of the smallest restaurants and coffee shops, or buying the most random things from stands. It just so happened that one of my most recent work trips brought me there, though to an area far away from Seminyak (the main area of Bali where all the happenings are). It was more secluded and private, something I also truly liked because it felt extra peaceful, and I was able to get away from the busyness of everything even just for a bit.
Bride and Breakfast visited The Mulia, Bali a few weeks back. For those wondering why we went, we got invited by The Mulia to experience the resort. We were there for three days, which was definitely not enough to take in the whole place. Our time was spent wandering around, taking photos, and eating (nonstop!). You can read about our Bride and Breakfast experience here, but I’d like to share a few tidbits and photos of the trip that I personally found interest in.
what’s to love about korea?
Korea has always been part of my “immediate to do” list. This is my must do by mid twenties type of list. It was a place a lot of people encouraged me to visit for the food and fashion. This, Japan and Bali were the top three.
One night during a random drinking session in Anton’s rooftop, my friends and I talked about the CebPac sale happening that day. We never really got to travel complete outside of the country, and the places we all wanted to visit were pretty similar. After a few drinks, we ended the night with a trip to Korea.
Korea, truly, did not disappoint. A lot would compare it to Japan, and your favour would really depend on your preference and priority when traveling. I have fallen in love with both.
To give you an idea of South Korea, here are a few things I loved about the place.

There was a lot of hesitation when Anton and I were asked if we wanted to join the Gaggan dinner for our Bangkok trip. For one, I was planning on a budget trip, with street food and Chatuchak in mind. I’m also not a big fan of Indian food, though I do enjoy some curry once in a while. Gaggan’s a degustation of progressive Indian food, and is a far cry from my street food budget. I really had to think it through.

A few days ago I was given the opportunity to give Bohol another visit. Although for work, I made sure to take advantage of the beautiful place, to take photos, enjoy the beach and unwind a little bit. How could you not when you’re in a place as breath-taking as Bohol, in a resort as stunning, grand and exclusive as Eskaya?

Though I barely got to go around Bohol during my short stay, there are several spots I can recommend you visit while you’re there. Here’s a quick mini tour of some areas around Panglao.
South Palms Resort
Another one of Bohol’s beautiful resorts. This isn’t in the main beach area (Alona), but it’s pretty close by. South Palms Resort’s beach is private for guests and has a lot of hangout spots you can choose from. Aside from the umbrellas you see below, there are also lounge chairs and bean bags around.
I really liked the style of this resort–a more modern take on the kubo. Their beach front is wide and long, and the resort is surrounded by coconut trees and is levelled with the beach so it looks extra spacious.
bits of bohol: bellevue
Last weekend’s quick getaway was spent in Panglao, Bohol to witness the binding of two very special people. It was a four-day vacation under the sun with friends and batchmates whom I barely get to see nowadays, surrounded by the wonderful people and beautiful scapes of the island.
For this trip, my friends and I booked at The Bellevue Bohol. While the wedding to attend was in South Palms Resort, we were not able to make a booking there due to the limited rooms that were left. Luckily Bellevue came up, and we were able to get a good deal for the Premier Suite that fit all eight of us.

Hamada has been in Baguio Country Club for years now but since it was my first time to try it last weekend, I want to show you bits of our meal in case you (like me), are late to the party.
We got two complementary appetizers, one crunchy maki and a simple salad.

My first time to visit LU was early in 2013 for the first Soul Surf. Ever since then I’ve been making several trips back, and I still continue to fall in love with it every time. There’s always comfort in knowing we’ll be going because I love just being in the beach, surfing once in a while, being surrounded by the people from there, eating my heart out, and basically just chilling all day and forgetting about time.
