Right beside Salad Stop in Alabang Town Center Corporate Center is a pretty little churros shop that opened three months ago. Before this, the only place I would go for churros was Dulcinea. But since they no longer have this in the south, it would take a while before I could have some in Greenbelt. Thank God for La Maripili!

I immediately fell in love with the shop’s interiors: white and wood, rot iron, bulbs, intricate tiles, and mirrors, and the lighting–on fleek! Its front is mostly glass which lets in  natural light, giving the place its nice, moody vibe coupled with the restaurant’s yellow bulbs and industrial lamps.

It was a gloomy day and Sam and I were craving for some churros, so we headed to La Maripili to try it out for the first time.

We just got the small classic to share, which comes with six pieces of churros. You can get a medium (12 pieces) for Php 120, and  large (18 pieces) for Php 180. The hot chocolate comes separately for Php 110. It might seem more expensive compared to others, but it’s pretty worth it especially if you’re a group that’s sharing in the chocolate.

There are other flavors of churros here that you might want to try out: Catalan Cream, Mojito (I want to try this!), Coconut Cream, Chocolate and Chili Mousse, Dulce De Leche and Vanilla Cream, which are all priced at Php 60 for one piece. If you want to go the savory route, you can opt for their Jamon Serrano filled churro or Chorizo and Honey (Php 60 per piece). Really interesting fillings which I plan to try out soon.

I really enjoyed my quick visit here because I love love churros. The hot chocolate was good but it had a slightly burned taste when I went. I’m not sure if that’s how it’s suppose to be, but I enjoyed it anyway and would go back for more.
